2019-08-13 Dundalk v Slovan

Europa League action between Dundalk and Slovan Bratislava at Tallaght Stadium. With Dundalk a goal down from the first leg, the Irish Champions needed to ensure the visitors did not score, but a break away goal and a pin point header by Rafael Ratao opened the scoring as early as 12 minutes. Aleksandar Cavric doubled the lead on 33 minutes and the tie was all but over! The Dundalk support were vocal throughout and while Dundalk enjoyed large percentages of play, they were unable to hit that final touch; until 70 minutes when Michael Duffy gave the Lillywhite fans some hope. Dundalk were then awarded a penalty on 80 minutes but Slovan goalie Dominik Greif got a toe to it to send the ball away. With time ticking on, Dundalk’s hopes faded and unltimately Slovan sealed a 3-1 win on the night as Erik Daniel converted on 90 minutes.
