2019-05-09 Czech v Greece

UEFA Under-17 European Championships Group A fixture between the Czech Republic and Greece at the Carlisle Grounds. On the brink of half-time, Christos Tzolis was felled in the box and stepped up to take the resulting spot kick; his effort rebounded off the post and was cleared. The Czechs upped their game in the second half and Jachym Sip was instrumental as he set up Vaclav Sejk for the opener. Substitute David Pech, fresh from the bench, rounded the keeper to give the Czechs a 2-goal advantage. A tough break for Greece and Tzolis took it harder than most as had he converted from the spot kick, it could have been a different story… The Czech Republic held on for the win and progress through to the QFs along with Belgium. Hosts Ireland and Greece are both eliminated from Group A.
